This one-page form keeps the annual financial planning easy and simple. A few focused goals are better than too many overwhelming ones. Plan a weekend to review your budget with your partner. Then fill this in and post it in your home's bill-pay / recordkeeping center (home office, hallway desk, kitchen desk, etc.) If you can, it's best to figure out your average monthly spending in each category from the previous year because this helps to guide you in determining your future spending goals. If you are married, try to meet with your spouse at least once a month to check your progress as a team.
