In this video, I share with you the first step in designing the perfect baby nursery - creating a floor plan. No, you don't have to be a decorator or use fancy CAD software. Any ordinary, regular plain ole' mom or dad with some common sense, a piece of graph paper and a desire to see things done right the first time will do.
I guarantee you, that after you do your floor plan, you will become aware of a few realities about the room that you'll need to factor in when choosing your crib, your rugs, your wall hangings and more. For me, I realized I couldn't go with a mini fridge. That simply wasn't an option with the space I had. Secondly, due to floor space limitations, I realized I also needed a wall hanging solution for books - no space for a traditional book case. Thirdly, size constraints also made it clear that I needed to get a crib / changer combo. Thank goodness I realized this before all these items were procured!
This video shows you how to use graph paper to make your floor plan. It also touches a little upon the Home Design Binder that I have, which I use for all the rooms of my house. Consider that a sneak peek! I will have to discuss that in a future blog post.
Good luck to all mothers and fathers on their nursery prep journey! Feel free to leave a comment below if you have a question or idea you want to share with other Home CEOs.
