Language Bin

  • Sensorial Bin 1: Make a button sorting activity with buttons from your sewing kit and a muffin tin. Discuss the shapes and colors of the buttons. Sort by size and shape together. (Supervision required!) See example here.
  • Sensorial Bin 2: Cut out circles of varying sizes. Do a size sorting game.
  • Theme Shelf: Find everything round from around the house. Bring back out the ring stacker.

Coloring Bin:
  • Coloring Bin: Print coloring pages with circles. Several examples can be found here.
  • Craft Bin: After you've done your sorting activity a few times with the buttons, make a button collage with glue. See example here.
  • Sensory Tub: Cookie cutter tools and playdoh.

Practical Life

  • Practical Life Bin: Introduce the Montessori Button Dressing Frame.
  • Cooking: Make pancakes together (highly recommend the Montessori Learning tower for this - it's an investment but great quality and very helpful if you want to help develop an interest in cooking at a young age, which is something I'm working on and hope that Lexi likes it!)
    • Or go to a field trip to a pancake house!

Gross Motor

  • Walk the line - Montessori walking in a circle.

Select 2-3 activities "out and about" each week.
